This course was created to bridge the gap between spa hot stones and deep tissue massage. We have created a deep tissue technique that is unique to the massage therapy field that is based on research. By combining hot/ cold stones with trigger point therapy and movement release we can truly release the muscle with both efficiently and effectively.
This is a valuable tool for your ‘tool box’ to efficiently release muscles with less effort from you (the therapist). Hot stones bring blood into a localized area, by opening the blood vessels we are supplying the muscles with more nutrients, oxygen, and proteins to promote faster healing, decrease adhesions, increase ROM, and decrease clients parasympathetic response. There are many more benefits of this technique that we go over in detail adjacent to recent research in the sports medicine field.
We not only explore the benefits of hot stones but also cold stones, and how they can be used in conjunction with each other.
Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) has proven to increase the length of your career with and prevent hand injuries. Combining hot and cold with tool based therapies is a game changer.
In this course we will use Hot Stones for a deep tissue, therapeutic massage for the sole purpose of releasing the muscles. Using the stones for heat and as a tool to protect your hands. The heat not only helps the client’s muscles, but the same effects are on the therapist’s hands. We will very briefly review relaxation massage, so you can do it safely with your clients.
Our aim with this course is to provide an easy way to use the benefits of heat, save your hands, and have longer lasting effects for the patient. Alix Claydon has brought a scientific based approach to massage therapy.
We have combined our two hot stone courses so that you only ever need one course. Stones used during the course are,
Basalt, Marble, Jade, himalyan salt stone.
It is the full content of Muscle Releases Deep tissue hot stone course PLUS explore the therapeutic/ relaxation aspects of the Jade Stones.
